Can We Have the Best Military and a Balanced Budget?

Red Millennial

The short answer is: yes, of course.

But listening to some Republicans, like Marco Rubio and Lindsey Graham, you’d think you could only have one or the other. In their view, you either want the best national defense in the world, or you’re an isolationist. You either spend the country into bankruptcy, or you want America to be weak militarily.

This is a false choice.

When Rubio proposes $1 trillion in new military spending, is it wrong to ask how he’s going to pay for it? Rubio and others can demagogue the issue and call people “isolationists,” but that dodges the fundamental issue of fiscal sanity.

Suppose Rubio were to propose $10 trillion in new defense spending, or $20 trillion, and someone asked how he planned on paying for it. Should the military get a blank check, meaning that whatever dollar number a politician throws out there is legitimate and valid?

Confirmed: Dan Bongino is Considering a Run for Marco Rubio’s Senate Seat

Red Millennial

Red Millennial has learned through a credible source that conservative activist and retired Secret Service agent Dan Bongino is actively considering a bid for the US Senate in Florida. The seat is being vacated by Sen. Marco Rubio, who is a presidential candidate and will not run for reelection.

“This race needs a shakeup,” Bongino wrote on his Facebook page. “We cannot lose this seat.”

Florida CFO Jeff Atwater has repeatedly ruled out a bid of his own, leaving the race with no clear frontrunner. Recent polling shows the most popular Republican accrues just nine percent of the vote, stoking fears of a weak field.

According to our source, Bongino will make a decision by the new year. Recent electoral trends indicate that political outsiders have momentum going into 2016, and Bongino certainly fits that mold.

Dan Bongino was the 2012 Republican nominee for Senate in Maryland when he was defeated by Sen. Ben Cardin, and he nearly…

The debate would occur in January and feature conservative media personalities as moderators. “We’ve been extremely impressed with the facilities at Liberty and their willingness to put on a top-notch professional production,” said Republican National Committee Chief Strategist Sean Spicer. “As of this moment right now, I feel very good about where we stand with Liberty.”

Several presidential candidates have spoken at LU this year, including Jeb Bush, Rand Paul, and Bernie Sanders. Ted Cruz launched his campaign at the conservative university, and Ben Carson is scheduled to speak November 11.

The video has accumulated more viewers than the CNBC Republican debate.
