Comparing Republican Tax Reform Plans

Red Millennial

With the American economy being in a state of stagnation, it’s no wonder that Republican presidential candidates are eyeing tax reforms that they hope will jumpstart economic growth and job creation.

The US tax code is a monstrosity at 74,608 pages long. The current system is separated into six brackets, ranging from 10 to 39.6 percent, with countless regulations, deductions, exemptions, and loopholes. The federal government has collaborated with corporate lobbyists to pick winners and losers in the tax code, and it needs to be stopped once and for all.

Under both Republican and Democrat Presidents, simplifying and flattening federal taxation has shown to encourage prosperity among all classes of Americans. Economic growth follows, meaning that more and better jobs become available and incomes rise for everyone.

If tax reforms are bold enough, revenue to the government actually increases due to economic growth, and federal deficits can be reduced. It…

Searching for the Next American President

Red Millennial

It’s easy for me to get caught up in the day-to-day headlines and controversies surrounding the various people campaigning to be the next President of the United States of America.

Although certain candidates stand out time me more than others, the time has come for me to stop and take a moment to reflect on some of the qualities I would like to see in the next American President.

We’re blessed with the opportunity to stand for something – for liberty and freedom and fairness – these are things worth fighting for, worth devoting our lives to. -Ronald Reagan

The next American President should rally his fellow countrymen around the principles of American exceptionalism, articulated from a belief that emanates from his own heart.

If you want to test a man’s character, give him power. -Abraham Lincoln

The Presidency ought to be reserved for a person of character, because…

VIDEO: Grassroots Leader Rallies State Legislators Against DC

Red Millennial

In the wake of recent Supreme Court rulings and executive power grabs on the part of President Obama, leaders in state legislatures are considering ways of curbing the power of the federal government.

Enter Convention of States Project, a nationwide grassroots organization working to restore the balance of power to the states and to the people. Mark Meckler, the co-founder of COS, recently spoke before a standing-room-only crowd made up of state legislators from across the country.

“You have a historic role to play” said Meckler. “You’ve been given a solemn responsibility by the Founders, and the Founders asked you to stand. They asked you to be the last line of defense for liberty!”

“Who is there to protect us when five Supreme Court justices behave so unconstitutionally?” Meckler asked. “The answer is: you. The Founders gave you the answer. The Founders wrote a note to you personally in Article V, and…

‘My Job Was to Get Parts’: Sixth Planned Parenthood Video

Red Millennial

The Center for Medical Progress has released its sixth video on Planned Parenthood’s practice of selling aborted baby parts to research facilities. The latest video is titled “Human Capital – Episode 2: Inside the Planned Parenthood Supply Site” and features an interview with Holly O’Donnell, an ex-Procurement Technician for StemExpress.

“She told me, ‘It’s not an option. It’s a demand. That’s what your job is,'” said O’Donnell, explaining that her superiors required her to obtain a high volume of body parts extracted from aborted fetuses.

O’Donnell revealed that she was instructed to ship the parts via FedEx to StemExpress.

“People would ask what was in the box, and I didn’t know what to say,” she says in the video. The video shows a document which lists the amount of compensation relevant to specific body parts and organs.

Part of O’Donnell’s job was to get women to sign consent agreements that say…

State Leaders Embrace Convention of States at ALEC 2015

Red Millennial

Nearly 1500 conservative state legislators from across the country gathered in San Diego for ALEC’s annual conference this past week, and Article V was the talk of the town. Several groups advocating for a convention of states were present at the event, but one stood out among the rest.

“The Convention of States is the one I have chosen to put my effort behind,” said Rep. Kelly Townsend of Arizona. “We need a balanced budget, but there are other issues at hand. (Convention of States) covers those issues, and it has the grassroots energy and support. That’s what’s going to get us to 34 states.”

The Convention of States Project resolution calls for a convention that would propose amendments dealing with fiscal restraints, term limits for federal officials, and other measures that would limit the power of the federal government.

“The other calls deal with single subject matters,” Delvis Dutton…
