Americans Were Wise to Obamacare Long Before Gruber’s ‘Stupid’ Comments

By now you have probably heard about the videos of Jonathan Gruber, one of chief the architects behind Obamacare, in which he bragged that they were intentionally untruthful to the American public about the nature of the law. He repeatedly attributed this strategy to “the stupidity of the American voter.”

But who exactly could Gruber be talking about? Ever since polling began on the topic, Americans have overwhelmingly opposed the law. Thanks to new media, the internet, and talk radio, Americans had a pretty good idea of how horrible this law was going to be, despite the Democrats’ efforts to sell it as the best thing since Stalin’s five-year plans.

The only “stupid” ones Gruber could be talking about are the low-information-Obama-drone voters who would believe whatever he and the President said. About 35 to 40 percent of Americans have consistently supported the law, while a majority of Americans oppose the law.
