Following Tuesday’s stunning Mississippi election results, Mark Levin went on a furious tirade against the Republican establishment, declaring that the GOP had “sold its soul” by playing the race card and engaging in fear-mongering.

“The Republican Party used the tactics of the Old South, the tactics of the segregationist South against conservatives and McDaniel,” said Levin. “They should be ashamed of themselves, but they are shameless. They are power hungry. They don’t stand for anything anymore. They disenfranchised Republican voters.”

After being forced into a runoff election with Tea Party-backed Chris McDaniel, 76 year-old and six-time incumbent Sen. Thad Cochran narrowly won by getting Democrats to the polls with bizarre robocalls and radio ads that targeted minorities and Democrats. Cochran painted McDaniel as a racist and “extremist.” McDaniel won by about eight points among…

What Recession? Fears Grow as Economy Shrinks 2.9 Percent, Sharpest Drop Since 2009

Red Millennial

U.S. President Barack Obama Visits Connecticut Town Where Massacre Still Fresh

The United States economy shrank by 2.9 percent in the first quarter of 2014, a far steeper drop than was first thought by economists. It’s the sharpest decline since the first quarter of 2009 wherein the American economy shrank by 5.4 percent at the start of the Great Recession.

Health care spending was way down during the decline, a direct result of Obamacare. Economists expect the economy to rebound in the second quarter of 2014, but Middle East conflict and other factors could be bad signs for future economic growth.

The Associated Press has more:

The U.S. economy shrank at a steep annual rate of 2.9 percent in the January-March quarter as a harsh winter contributed to the biggest contraction since the depths of the recession five years ago. But the setback is widely thought to be temporary, with growth rebounding solidly since spring.

The first-quarter contraction reported Wednesday by…

Sen. Thad Cochran (left) may face a legal challenge from Chris McDaniel after election "irregularities." Sen. Thad Cochran (left) may face a legal challenge from Chris McDaniel after election “irregularities.”

In yesterday’s Mississippi runoff election to decide the state’s Republican Senate nominee, Sen. Cochran received about 51 percent of the vote to Chris McDaniel’s 49 percent. Only 7,000 votes separate the two, but McDaniel says it’s not over yet.

“Today, the conservative movement took a backseat to liberal Democrats,” McDaniel said in his post-election speech.

McDaniel alluded to reports of “voting irregularities,” hinting that his team may be considering legal options agains the Cochran campaign. According to CNN, the Cochran camp admitted that Democrats probably won them the election.

Per Mississippi law, Democrats who voted in the June 3 Democratic primary in the state were not allowed to vote in Tuesday’s Republican election.

“We must ensure the sanctity of the vote is upheld,” McDaniel said. Before this race ends, we must be absolutely certain that…

VIDEO: Paul Ryan Destroys ‘Incredible’ IRS Commissioner: ‘No one believes you’

Red Millennial

Few who hold public office can channel the outrage of the American people quite like him.

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) went on a rampage Friday morning while questioning IRS Commissioner John Koskinen, who remained defiant over the “loss” of e-mails that were critical to an ongoing investigation.

“Sitting here listening to your testimony, I don’t believe it,” Ryan declared. “That’s your problem. No one believes you.”

“The apology that ought to be given is to the American taxpayer, not a government agency that is abusing its power,” Ryan said.

Over a year into the investigation of the IRS’s targeting of conservative and Tea Party groups, the IRS finally told Congress that a series of hard drive crashes had destroyed the e-mails of Lois Lerner and six other IRS employees. Lerner was the head of the division on tax-exempt organizations at the time the targeting occurred.

However, IT professionals and…

Green Kills? VA Spent Millions Installing Solar Panels While Veterans Died

Red Millennial

VAT2 Photo 5s The Veterans Administration spent $78 million retrofitting hospitals in about 20 cities with solar panels.

An editorial in yesterday’s edition of The Washington Times blasts the Veterans Administration for focusing so much of its time on installing new solar panels while denying care to veterans.

Nearly two-dozen VA facilities have dedicated resources to outfitting their buildings with solar power, but the Phoenix VA Health Care System was especially guilty. That hospital spent $20 million on the energy project even while 20 American heroes died at the facility due to incompetence. The VA even posted an extensive list of “Green Management Programs” on its website.

The installation of solar panels appears to be part of the Obama Administration’s green initiative. According to the White House’s website, the VA was awarded $78 million in 2010 in order to retrofit their facilities with “green energy.”

“This initiative is good for Veterans…” said VA Secretary Eric Shinseki.

Shinseki resigned from his post…
